Who We Are
Taleology is a specialty shop offering hand-crafted custom pet portrait accessories & home decor for the modern pet parent.
Taleology is an all in-house, one women, production along with her furry supervisors. Emmas drawings stem from her art style of ink and paper.
Emma's passion for her craft is deeply rooted in her family's artistic legacy. Her father was a talented fine artist and his passing in 2010 inspired Emma to honor his memory by creating her own art and establishing Taleology.
Our mission is simple - to preserve memories and strengthen local economies by partnering with local artisans to craft exceptional products, fostering a sustainable cycle of heritage and conscious consumption. Taleology is changing the shopping landscape focusing on building expierences instead of just transactions online and off.

Telling More Stories
In 2025 we rebranded our experience with the focus on our traditions and artisan growth. Focusing on growing our community of sustainble pet loving people.

Made in NYC
Emma went full-time on Taleology after her layoff from Daily Harvest at the end of Janurary. Taleology became a member of Made in NYC which is a non-profit that supports local small business who produce, source and operate 50%+ out of NYC.

Sparking Conversations
In the fall of 2023, Emma takes the risk to launch her art and custom portraits. She started with a local pop-up and quickly expanded her expierence to online. Determined to make her brand more than just a transaction in both the physical and digital space.
It is estimated across the US, 6.3 million pets are surrendered to shelters each year. On average, 1.5 million shelter animals are euthanized every year in the United States. Shelters around the country euthanize an estimated 670,000 dogs and 860,000 cats each year. Many of these animals did not have behavioral or health issues that were a humane euthanization and had to be put down simply because of over crowding.
With each purchase, Taleology pledges to donate a portion of profits to provide food, medical care, and supplies to a local rescue shelter.
We donate 5-15% of our profits every year to a local rescue. Not including pop-up donations we do throughout the year.

Pup of the Month
Meet Nova
a 4 year old 45lb bundle of smarts.
"If you are ready to laugh every day and to feel loved, you must adopt Nova. It is impossible to know her and not to fall deeply in love with her. She knows many commands, such as sit, stay, paw, turn, and come. She has an amazing vocabulary too. Her favorite word is "treat." Nova adores people."

Meet our Furry Rescues

Zipper
Our youngest pack member adopted in 2023. He was found a 2nd time and need a lot of medical attention. Thankfully he is a fully healed, cuddly and chaotic cat.

Lucy
Our big baby. She was adopted in the winter of 2022 from Muddy Paws NYC. We scooped her up last minute after a day of being overlooked and it was the best idea.

Tommy
Emma's main inspiration for Taleology. Tommy was Emma's first adult adoptee rescued at the age of 5. There were many challenges but the love he has to give is another level and is Emma's soul dog. He was adopted in 2021.
